bethI’ve been a lifelong fitness enthusiast, having grown up playing various sports and trying a variety of fitness activities as I’ve gotten older. In early 2013, a friend asked me if I wanted to try a CrossFit workout with him. I had heard of CrossFit but didn’t really know what it was, so I was curious and I accepted his invitation and the rest as they say is history! I enjoy how each CrossFit workout is different, how quickly the workouts go by and how easily I can see and measure my progress. I became stronger and faster, my clothes fit better, I slept better and just felt better in general, and best of all, I developed strong friendships with the people I was CrossFitting with–something I could never say about the commercial gym I had been going to.
Even though I had a successful career as a Human Resources professional, I didn’t feel like it was my true calling in life. I realized that what I enjoyed most and had the most interest in was health and wellness. I had thought that one day I’d like to open a gym; but I didn’t know what kind of gym. Luckily I found CrossFit and realized I wanted to open a gym based on CrossFit principles–group classes with supportive community members performing constantly varied, high intensity, functional movements.
I love learning about health and fitness and I want to be the best coach possible for our members so I have invested in a lot of continuing education.

nickGrowing up as a soccer player and swimmer I always really enjoyed the structured and community environment that sports teams were able to offer. After hitting a wall with my own personal workouts, the daily struggle of finding motivation and variety, I decided to take my uncles’ offer up on a session at their CrossFit gym and have been hooked ever since! Having a great community to work out with has made all the difference in motivation and keeping fitness fun. With 5 years and counting of swim coaching experience, I hope to bring the same values of excitement and team building to you guys at CFH.
